His research interests are Numerical analysis, differential equations, mechanics, computational relativity. He served as president of the Society of Induatrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). He is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society.<\/p>\n

Alfonso Castro<\/h3>\n

Alfonso Castro is a McAlister Professor of Mathematics\u00a0at Harvey Mudd College. His research interests are in\u00a0differential equations and nonlinear functional analysis.\u00a0He is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society. He is also\u00a0a member of the Colombian Academy of Sciences\u00a0and\u00a0was awarded the Colombian National Mathematics Prize in 2013.<\/p>\n
