Panelists will also take your questions, which you can submit before the panel at the conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panelists<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-965 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/ranthony-250x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/ranthony-250x300.png 250w, https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/ranthony.png 356w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 135px) 100vw, 135px\" \/><strong>Dr. Ranthony Clark<\/strong> earned a PhD in Mathematics in 2018 from the University of Iowa, held post-doctoral positions at Ohio State University and MSRI, and is currently a National Science Foundation Mathematical and Physical Sciences Ascending Postdoctoral Researcher and Phillips Griffiths Assistant Research Professor at Duke University. Her research interests include commutative ring theory, applied algebraic topology, data science, and mathematics education. In 2019 she co-created the first service-learning course in the Department of Mathematics at The Ohio State University entitled, \u2018Intersections of Mathematics and Society: Hidden Figures.\u2019 In 2021 she was awarded a Racial Justice Grant as the PI of the project \u201cHidden Figures Revealed: Dynamic History and Narratives of Black Mathematicians from The Ohio State University,\u201d which is the first comprehensive study of black mathematicians at a single US institution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-966 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/jessie-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"122\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/jessie-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/jessie-684x1024.jpg 684w, https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/jessie-768x1150.jpg 768w, https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/jessie-1026x1536.jpg 1026w, https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/jessie-1368x2048.jpg 1368w, https:\/\/math-sites.uncg.edu\/rmsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/11\/jessie-scaled.jpg 1710w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 122px) 100vw, 122px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Jessie<\/strong><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\"><strong>\u00a0Hamm<\/strong> received her doctorate in mathematics from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2014 and began working at Winthrop University upon graduation. Her mathematical research interests include anti-Ramsey theory, group theory, and graph theory, and she is also involved in research concerning effective teaching and learning. Dr. Hamm has hosted a number of community outreach events including Sonia Kovalevsky Days, math summer camps, math days for local elementary schools, and she also started the Tri-County Math Teachers\u2019 Circle, which is an outreach community for K-12 educators of math.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nccu.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/directory\/ksweems.jpg\" alt=\"Kimberly\" width=\"153\" height=\"210\" \/>Dr. Kimberly <span class=\"markx115vw6vb\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Weems<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is an associate professor and the interim chair of the Department of Mathematics and Physics at North Carolina Central University (NCCU). Her primary research interests include flexible statistical models for the analysis of count data. She is active in STEM education and broadening participation initiatives, serving as co-chair of the Infinite Possibilities Conference and principal investigator of a collaborative math pathways project designed to improve outcomes for undergraduate African American men in gateway mathematics courses. Dr.\u00a0<span class=\"markx115vw6vb\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Weems<\/span>\u00a0has received a Teaching Excellence Award from NCCU and NC State.
